After the initial meeting, the designer will take the design elements discussed and incorporate them into a preliminary conceptual design. During the design presentation the designer will review the set of drawings and provide you with an estimate of project costs.
This initial set of ideas will evolve and be refined over the ensuing meetings with your designer until you are completely satisfied with the project layout.
Contract and Construction
The final design, project scope, and costs will be presented to you, and at this point a contract will be presented for signing. This ensures your project will continue to move forward. After we visit the site and confirm the measurements, our talented staff will begin construction of your cabinets in our factory.
From the time a contract is signed, depending on the scope of the project, your new cabinets should arrive ready for installation in four to six weeks.
The process of measuring your space will help you to gain insight as to what you would like the end result or your project to be. Don’t forget that our cabinet maker will always come for a final measure before ordering any cabinets.
Overall Measurements
Start in one corner approximately 36” up from the floor and working your way clockwise around the room.
Wall to wall measurements will help double check your wall dimensions. Labeling the walls, windows and doors with numbers will create an easy reference when collaboration with the designer, especially when communication via telephone/email.
Ceiling Measurements
The ceiling will also need to be measured. Taking measurements of ceiling the height in different locations will help to determine how level the floor is.
Windows and Doors
After taking wall measurements, you will need additional information including:
Overall window/door height, including trim as well as the door swing. For windows, it is important to know the distance from the floor to the bottom of the window trim.
Sink and Appliances
A simple measurement to the center of the sink or range will suffice.
Dimensions of the existing or new appliance will also be needed.
Exact measurements, make and model of all appliances will be required before finalizing the design and ordering.
